Remember my rant about how the local Suzi dealership doesn't stock *anything*? Well, last Friday I ordered my replacement carb air screw. Went by yesterday and they said the part was in. Well, lo and behold, they'd ordered me a pilot JET, not a pilot SCREW. Grrrrr....
So I'm trying to explain to parts monkey what it is I need. He's trying to sell me a jet needle--no, that's not it, I tell him. He pulls a microfiche slide with the exploded carb view for me to point it out. Can't find it anywhere on the diagram; hell, doesn't even look like the same carb. Calls the mechanic over; he can't find it either. I finally said, "Did he pull the right slide?" Mechanic checks, and finds that parts monkey has pulled the slide for a GS-650 instead of LS-650. We get the right slide in the fiche reader, and bingo.
So now it'll probably be next week before my parts come in-- I was hoping to get the carb done this weekend. Can you tell I'm a little frustrated with these clowns?
